Looking at the History of Harrogate. Uncovering its past and seeing what can be brought to the branding of a new company.

Technical File 2, TID1284

Our new brief given is to look again at our infographics from project 1, TID1090. We are to re-intemperate it in a way that will add a narrative  or otherwise to use the data previously collected to create something new.

We discussed in groups the ways we could create something new. I know initially that I want to produce something that uses interesting print techniques and is based on a narrative. I am thinking along the lines of a learning resource for children or a story book.

Tigerprint

In today's industry day briefings, I was also very much interested in the brief from Tigerprint. Who are a company based in London and in Bradford. Their biggest and main client is M&S, and they create greetings cards, design wear, stationery etc for them. You may better know them as Hallmark.

They had a very open brief for designing future concepts regarding the communication of two people. For example, a greetings card - but a little something more different.

I have decided not to do this brief as opportunities like this come up with the company all the time as competitions, and so I would be happy to do those instead.

Project 3

TID1090

Today we have been briefed by several design agencies on different briefs for us to choose from.

I believe I have come to the decision of working again with 10 associates to brand a new company based in Harrogate. I am very much looking forward to pushing on with it and starting my research.

Unfortunately, I cannot say who the company is or what they do as they are setting out for a full blown launch; I’m guessing later this year.

For this project, I will be looking at the 1930’s and the Art Deco era. This will be an interesting approach as I have not worked with Art Deco before. And producing designs to this criteria will prove to be very interesting.
